Getting started with iAwake Pro

Want to Work? Or Relax?

  1. Go to the Work|Life page
  2. Scroll through the tracks – look at the descriptions to get a sense of what each track does.
  3. Use the filters at the top to help narrow the choices.
  4. We’ve made some playlists that work for us but YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary), so try them and see if they work for you, too.

Want to start a Pomodoro session?

  1. Go to the Work | Life page and select the Pomodoro tab.
  2. Check out the playlists – each playlist is 2.5 hours long comprised of 4 x 25 minute long tracks with a 5 minute break plus a relax track.
  3. Let us know if you’d like us to make additional Pomodoros and we’ll serve ’em up quick.

iAwake Pro sound tracks use neuroacoustic technology which helps you achieve mind states that make concentration, focus, and getting into the flow easier. We also have tracks that will help you relax and “release,” so you can de-stress and recover from hard mental efforts.

Since everyone is different (but we all rhyme!), our tracks affect different folks in different ways. And that’s cool. Just like there are lots of different ways we respond to fear, anger, or happiness, folks will respond differently to our tracks.

Let’s do it!

Just let the tracks play in the background. If it’s distracting in the beginning, that’s okay. Just ride it out for a bit. If you get headaches or a ringing sensation, this is good: you are responding to the tech. Often the symptoms will subside as your mind gets used to the tracks. For now, stop and try a different track or take a break. Then come back later, listen with lower volume, and see how you do. Just like when you start a new exercise at the gym (you get exercise – right?) and your muscles complain, so your mind might complain initially, till it adapts to this new stimulation.

After the track ends, you’ll know if it’s working for you. Different tracks affect different folks in different ways (heard that before?), so there’s no way to quantify what is a good result except – Did it work? Were you able to concentrate and stay focused longer? Did you hit a flow state? Were you able to relax? If it works – great!

And, if you felt nothing after trying a few of the tracks right away – that’s okay. Try again tomorrow. This is new stuff for your mind. Maybe iAwake Pro is not for you (aren’t ya glad we have a nice long trial period?). There are some great alternatives out there, and we’ll provide some links so you can try ’em.

At the end of the day, we want you to have a great life: be productive and happy at work, be able to release and recover from work when it’s time, and live a healthy, balanced life. See our blog for tips on other ways to balance your life. Maybe we can help you find a tool that works for you.

When you’re ready to get stuff done, plug in your headphones and start one of the tracks at a comfortable volume level.

All the tracks have short descriptions – pick a track that jibes with your goal. If you want to find flow faster or concentrate more easily, try one of the Work tracks like Focus, Create, or Recharge. If you want to release and relax, try one of the Life tracks like Peace or Dream. If you want to sleep better, try the, ummm . . . Sleep track.

Tips from users:

If I need something physical while working – I use one of the “workout” tracks like Train or Workout. – JR

Sometimes I just need a jolt of energy mid-morning. Bright does it for me. -SN

What I do first thing is hit the Focus filter button, then the Jumpstart button and pick most any track (except Brainstorm.) All it takes is, like listening to one track and bam! I’m good to go for  hours. -LP
